Foo Fighters is an American alternative rock band originally formed in 1994 by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the dissolution of his previous band. Over the course of the band's career, three of its albums have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, and all six albums have been nominated. Foo Fighters first received a Grammy Award for their music video for "Learn to Fly" in 2000 and have won six others in total. These include 3 for Best Rock Album for There Is Nothing Left To Lose, One by One, and Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace; and 2 for Best Hard Rock Performance for the songs "All My Life", and "The Pretender". At the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, the band won Best Rock Video for "Walk".
